FAQS for Girls in Aviation Day

Who should attend the event?

Attendance to GIAD is open to all! Content of the event is focused on girls ages 8 to 17, however we welcome ALL to attend. Bring the family/group/troop and get ready to be inspired!

How much does this event cost?

This event is FREE for all ages. We are a 501(c)3 non profit, and donations are tax deductible. https://starsofthenorth.org/sponsors

Thank you for your support!

CONTIUNING into 2025 - the Rising Stars program! More information and registration for this paid, limited-space opportunity for our Girls going into grades 9 to 12 can be found here: https://secure.qgiv.com/for/wia/event/giriavida202-risstaregcop/

When should I come?

The event is open-house style and runs from 10 AM to 3 PM. You may come at any time and stay for as little or as long as you would like. We'll take a BIG group photo at 12:30, and there will be a session called The Crooked Path where professionals will be sharing their stories to inspire future generations to follow their dreams! We're also hosting a session for parents of future aviators to learn how to support and encourage their child's dreams.

Where can I park?

Parking is available at Grace Church (9301 Eden Prairie Road, Eden Prairie, MN 55347) this year. Bussing will be provided from Grace Church to and from Girls in Aviation Day while the event is running. We are strongly encouraging a $5 donation for this service.

How does the check-in process work?

Please bring a copy of your tickets to the registration area upon arrival.

Will food be provided?

We will have several food trucks at the event where you can purchase all types of food including vegetarian, gluten-free, nut-free, and dairy-free options. You may also bring in your own food and drinks, but, no glass or alcoholic beverages please.

Will the chapter provide string bags for attendees?

We aim to provide one bag per child at the event, offered on a first-come, first-served LIMITED SUPPLY basis. Based on registration numbers, we WILL run out. Should you wish to pre-purchase a bag from WAI to ensure you have one sent to your home with its inserts, please visit http://www.wai-store.org/ and purchase your child's items.
